Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf of springtime.
- Martin Luther
Life cycles ...
Birth and death
Spring and fall
Summer and winter
Azaleas
New leaves
... I find it all pretty amazing.
I work with three women who will give birth next month. I've watched their babies grown and move.
I myself gave birth to two children. Watching their development in the womb in a brief nine months and seeing these living beings emerge from my body ... well, you parents know how emotionally overwhelming it is.
And after witnessing all of these events, I am still intrigued and perplexed by agnostics and atheists. They don't get my faith.
I don't get them.
One can only hope they have some type of spiritual awakening ... in whatever form it comes.

I truly believe that we all find our way to God in our own time and in our own way eventually. I know professed agnostics and atheists who are better Christians than a lot of the professed devout Christians et al I know. Their goodness shines like a beacon. And I'm not gonna criticize them.
I agree with you. I wasn't criticizing them; I said I don't "get" them. You use the word "Christian," but keep in mind there are many devout believers in God who are Muslim, Jewish, etc. I've know many people who are right in the synagogue or church every time it's opened, but they wouldn't give a morsel of bread to one in need. Something's wrong with that. However, I do believe that all creation speaks of a higher being, and I just don't understand people who don't see that. Enough justifying myself here.
Great post Amy!

Hope is what we always can have - it's the life preserver of choice.
We all come to faith different ways and through different speeds sometimes.
Hi Amy
I just wandered over to give you a cyber hug and to thank you for your thoughtful spring musings...
Yes, thanks for your thoughts and challenges and prayers for those whose faith or lack thereof baffles you - and me. Those who seek will find. I take solace in that.
Enjoy this cycle of your life. I will do the same.
Enjoy this weekend, too.
On our weekend journey I met the nicest lady who had once been an atheist and is now a Christian. Her story is so sweet and I loved her fresh take on things like communion and fellowship between strangers. She is really big on believing we are all tied together and meant to help each other along on a good path of charitability and thankfulness.
